EDUCATIONList Item 1
- High School Diploma; prefer at least 2 years of college
- Minimum of 2 years Driver Dispatch Experience in a truck load common carrier environment.

JOB DESCRIPTIONList Item 2
- Review and schedule driver daily workloads. Work with drivers to ensure on time and accurate deliveries. Prepare Trip Activity Sheets, applicable bills of lading, and any special instructions for driver shipments.
- Promptly respond to customer needs, driver needs, and other inquiries.
- Effectively supervise, support, and motivate company truck drivers.
- Monitor driver status and makes timely updates in company computer system.
- Manage driver vacation and other leave requests and schedules to ensure coverage of customer needs.
- Assist manager with driver records for discipline, recognition, job status changes, accidents, and additional training.
- Review and counsel drivers on late pickups/deliveries, safety issues, hours of service requirements, fuel compliance, excessive idling and overall company policies.
- Perform periodic and annual driver reviews.
- Attend quarterly driver safety meetings.
- Coordinate with Shop Maintenance to make certain that scheduled tractor maintenance occurs on a timely basis.
- Ensure that vehicle inspection reports are complete and that permits and tags are current.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents/incidents and reporting them promptly to the Safety Dept.
- Respond to driver needs and concerns to minimize turnover.
- Keep drivers actively working and productive to make certain that their expected financial needs are met and reduce turnover.
- Promptly investigate driver pay discrepancies with Payroll.
- Assist Account Manager as needed.
